YODA IS A SITH LORD

The Long Awaited paper that got me an A in Speech and English.

Yoda. Green little Muppet dude, lived on a swamp. Showed up in Empire. (Straus, Interview). Yoda. Jedi master and head of the Jedi Counsel, perhaps the most powerful user of the Force, trained Mace Windu, Qui Jean Gin and Count Duku (Strom, Interview). Yoda. Sage like giver of wisdom and inspiration (Crandall, Interview). Yoda. Sith Lord (Bromund, Interview).

Over the years, mostly in defending some of the changes he made to the story George Lucas has sworn that he had the entire plot for the Star Wars franchise written out by the time we saw The Empire Strikes Back in the theaters (Wikipedia, George Lucas). While we will only ever see Six films, a video game (Star Wars Force Unleashed) and a animated cartoon (Star Wars-the Clone Wars) that are considered “cannon” by him, Lucas swears the plot line for Nine films was written down and much of the plot for those last Three films appeared in the Timothy Zahn Star Wars books (The Thrwn Trilogy). That means that according to Mr. Lucas everything that we saw and experienced in every Star Wars film was already plotted out and considered by Mr. Lucas in the late 70’s, every choice the characters made, every event was already thought out by Mr. Lucas .

Therefore every choice, every action, every event in the Star Wars saga was orchestrated by Yoda the head of the Jedi Counsel and if you truly pay close attention to the choices Yoda makes and the events that spiral out from Yoda you can only come to one logical conclusion. Everything that happened is a direct result of Yoda’s actions; Yoda my friend is a Sith Lord.

Who is Yoda and what is a sith lord?

Yoda is a character in the Star Wars universe, appearing in the second and third original films, as well as all three prequel trilogy films. A renowned Jedi master, Yoda made his first on-screen appearance in Star Wars Episode V: the Empire Strikes Back where he is responsible for training Luke Skywalker in the ways of the Jedi. His final chronological appearance is Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, when he dies peacefully at the age of 900. He also appears extensively in the two animated Clone Wars series, as well as the Star Wars Expanded Universe of novels and comic books.” (Wikipedia, Yoda). “He is considered the most powerful (or second most) force user ever and is a master with the Light Saber-he is also somehow related to Kermit the Frog and other Muppets” (Strom, Interview)

As for the sith, the “bad guys” of much of the Star Wars mythology? “Sith is a term applied to certain characters in the Star Wars universe[1] capable of using the "dark side" of the Force.[2] In the Star Wars films and much of the Expanded Universe they are the main antagonists.” (Wikipedia, Sith). “I think it is wrong to consider them the bad guys, they represent emotion and chaos and change while the Jedi represent law and order and calm. They are yin and yang; they were supposed to exist in harmony. The balance of the Force” (Crandall, Interview).

So how do I come to the conclusion that Yoda, the cute lil green guy who was one of the good guys was in fact the manipulative mastermind behind everything we experience in the Star Wars Saga? Let us look at each of the Six films in the order we saw them but with the hindsight of knowing that chronologically, “Star Wars Episode One’ the Phantom Menace’ “(Where we meat Anakin Skywalker for the first time) takes place before “Star Wars Episode Four ‘A New Hope’” (Where we meat Luke Skywalker for the first time).

Star Wars, Obi Wan and Luke: Throughout the first film Obi Wan lies to and manipulates Luke to get him to help him. From the very moment they first meet Obi Wan begins to manipulate Luke with the lie that “A young Jedi named Darth Vader killed his father” (Star Wars, Film). He lies to Luke about his father’s role in the Clone Wars, how he got the Light Saber and he even lies about never seeing R2 and 3PO before. Using his anger and grief over the deaths of Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru Obi Wan manipulates Luke throughout the rest of the first film to rescue Leila and begin his journey as a Jedi. From the very beginning Luke is seeded with anger and grief and manipulated by lies-all things that supposedly are against the Jedi code and lead to the dark side. Why is a respected General and Jedi on Tatooine? He was “banished” there to watch over young Luke, and who sent him there and told him to lie to Luke? Yoda.

Lie # 1=Darth Vader did not kill Luke’s Father; Darth Vader is Luke’s Father (Empire Strikes Back, Film). Lie #2-Luks father was a Pilot in the clone wars. Luks father was a general and member of the Jedi counsel in the Clone Wars.(Clone Wars, Animated cartoon) Lie # 3 This is your fathers light saber-Anakin’s Light Saber fell in the lava, the Light Saber Ben gives Luke is one Ben made( Crandall, interview).

The Empire Strikes Back, Obi-Wan, Luke and Yoda: After a near death experience the Force Ghost of Obi-Wan sends Luke to Dagobah to train with the Jedi Master that trained him, Yoda. Why is Ben now a Force Ghost, why would the Jedi want to become Immortal? Because of Yoda. Isn’t immortality against the Jedi code and the balance of the force? Are not the undead bad? (Zombies, Paper).

Luke arrives on Dagobah a huge swamp planet teaming with life and the power of the Dark Side where Yoda has been hiding out for the past Twenty years. Why? Because the planet is so large and has so much life on it that a Force user like Yoda would not register on a Force scan of the planet as the planet would mask him (Wikipedia, Dagobah)(Star Wars On Line Encyclopedia, Dagobah). The fact that Dagobah is “Powerful with the Dark Side” ( The Empire Strikes back, Film) and Yoda has been hanging out here-on a planet powerful with Dark Side energy- doing nothing rather than helping train Luke or Leila or help the rebellion?( Bromund, Interview)

At first Yoda lies to Luke then after admitting who he is, turns Luke down as a apprentice but then gives in to Luke’s whining, Obi-Wan and Yoda lie about their past and Luke’s training begins. Luke faces his worst fear in the Dark Side tree and fails, and then after having a Yoda manipulated Force vision pouts and cries and storms off the planet to face Vader. Luke gives in to his anger and emotion all things that go against the Jedi code and are Dark Side points. Yoda and Obi- Wan give a half ass argument with him but make no attempt to stop him, though we know Yoda is powerful enough to stop him. Instead a untrained Luke is sent off to confront Vader teaming with Dark Side energy and emotion and thus doomed to fail, which Yoda knew.

Lie # 1: Yoda trained Obi Wan. Other than his Jedi learner training (Wikipedia, Yoda), Yoda had nothing to do with Obi-Wan’s training. Obi-Wan was trained by Qui-Gon Jinn (Wikipedia, Qui-Gon Jinn), who was trained by Count Dooku-a Sith Lord who was trained by Yoda. Count Dooku is played by Actor Christopher Lee, who also played Saruman (A bad guy) in “The Lord of The Rings” (Wikipedia, Count Dooku) (Wikipedia, Christopher Lee).

Return of the Jedi, Luke and Vader/Anakin: Although Yoda plays very little of a roll in Jedi he does in fact tell Luke the truth about his Father and Sister. When Luke confronts Obi-Wan about his lies and manipulation, Obi-Wan offers very little in the way of apologizing rather he spouts some crap about Luke having to understand that things are not what they seem. Luke then confronts his father and the Two duel it out in a battle manipulated by The Emperor, each striking the other with anger and furry and when Luke is struck down by the Emperor it is only Vader in a fit of Dark Side empowered anger that can destroy the Emperor and save Luke. Later Luke sees that Yoda, Obi-Wan and Anakin have all become immortal Force Ghosts. (Return of the Jedi, Film), even though Immortality would seem to go against the Jedi code and be more akin to something a sith might seek (Crandall, Interview) (Bromund, Interview).

The Phantom Menace: Anakin, Yoda and Qui-Gon: Where to begin on this film, remember we are looking at the films in the order that we the audience saw them but with the hindsight and foresight of the films that came before and after them and the assurance of George Lucas that he had this all written and planed out in 1980(Wikipedia, George Lucas). First off suddenly the Force is no longer a mysterious energy given off by all living things but now a result of Midi-chlorians which are intelligent microscopic life forms that lived symbiotically inside the cells of all living things? (Wookapedia, Midi-Chlorian) this is the first of many changes to the cannon of the Star Wars mythology that we the fans had to deal with during the next (first?) three films and all though Mr. Lucas claims he had this all planed as far back as 1977 (Wikipedia, George Lucas) many of us believe he wrote Phantom Menace over a weekend in a Motel. (Kevin Smith, interview).

It is in Phantom Menace that Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon are sent to a insignificant planet called Naboo (Star Wars On Line Encyclopedia, Naboo)to “deal with” a trade embargo”(Phantom Menace, Film). Why would two Jedi be sent and not Diplomats, do you always send “Black Opp's Ninjas”(Strom, Interview) to deal with minor planets problems?(Crandall, Interview) No, Diplomats from the Republic should have been sent but instead a flawed Jedi and his equally flawed apprentice(Bromund, interview) are sent at the bidding of Yoda and proceed to start a cascade of events that lead to the Clone Wars.(Phantom menace, Film)

On the run the Two heroes arrive on Tatooine where they encounter a young, spoiled, brash and petulant Anakin Skywalker and his mother, who Qui-Gon is attracted to (Which is against Jedi code BTW)( Wookapedia, Anakin Skywalker). After some minor adventures Qui-Gon becomes convinced that Anakin is the “Chosen one destined to bring balance to the force.”(Wikipedia, Qui-Gon Jinn). At this point there are almost 1000 active Jedi, Apprentices and Padawan learners in the Galaxy but only about 10 sith, in order for there to be Balance to the Force would there not have to be an equal amount of both –as there was supposed to be? (Crandall, Interview)So wouldn’t a LOT of Jedi have to die in order for Anakin to bring balance to the force? (Bromund, Interview)Qui-Gon does not see this flaw rather he sees Anakin as some kind of Jedi Messiah(Wikipedia, Qui-Gon Jinn) Anakin’s mother claims that Anakin was the result of “Immaculate conception” and “They have to take him, he can help you” thus playing on Qui-Gon’s beliefs and his attraction to her, despite Obi-Wan’s misgivings. Thus Anakin abandons his mother and flies off to the stars for more adventures (Wookapedia, Anakin Skywalker). During the final confrontation with Darth Maul Qui-Gon is struck down, (Wikipedia, Qui-Gon Jinn) Obi Wan driven by rage and despair over the loss of his Master is able to strike down Darth Maul in vengeance (Phantom Menace, Film)-thus the untrained Jedi takes on Dark Side corruption. At the end of the film the angry Obi –Wan confronts the Jedi Counsel over the fate of Anakin. The Counsel do not want the boy to be trained by Obi –Wan as he is not trained all the way himself and they find the boy brash, rude, petulant and a potential danger(Wookapedia, Anakin Skywalker)(Phantom Menace, Film). Overcome with rage –and the Dark Side-Obi-Wan insists that training Anakin was Qui-Gon’s last wish and he will train him anyway, at which point Yoda says ok train the kid. He does not stop Obi-Wan or insist Anakin get trained by someone else or a million other things he could have done, rather despite knowing the potential danger Anakin poses and going against the Jedi council Yoda lets the bitter and angry Obi-Wan train the rude, petulant and brash Anakin ( Bromund, interview)(Phantom Menace, Film).

Mind you Obi-Wan has not completed his Jedi training at this point (Star Wars On Line Encyclopedia, Obi-Wan Kenobi), and his training was at the hands of Qui-Gon who himself was trained by a Sith!( Wikipedia , Count Dooku) Qui Gon was a flawed Jedi, Obi-Wan was a flawed Jedi thus Anakin was doomed to be a flawed Jedi (Bromund, interview).

Lies#1: Anakin’s mother says she does not know who Anakin’s father was, that he was “Immaculately Conceived” of the force (Wookapedia, Anakin Skywalker). This is untrue; she was a “slave” of the hut and often had “encounters” with men for the Hut. Not only did she know who his father was, it was most likely a Sith (Crandall, interview). Lie # 2: Qui-Gon wanted Obi-Wan to train Anakin, Qui-Gon wanted to train Anakin himself because of his attraction to Anakin’s mother-he never told Obi-Wan to train Anakin. (Strom, interview) Obi-Wan did not trust or like Anakin and only took him on out of pride and respect for his dead master-pride leads to the Dark Side as does grief. (Phantom Menace, Film).

Attack of the Clones; Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda and Padme’. Ten years after Episode One-What? Where did the Ten years go? What happened, why has Anakin aged but Padme’ has not and who the hell let Jar-Jar Binks on the Republic Senate? (Attack of the Clones, Film) (Wikipedia, Jar-Jar Binks).

The Galactic Republic is in turmoil. Following the invasion of Naboo ten years earlier, the former Jedi Knight Count Dooku (Christopher Lee) has now organized a Separatist movement against the Republic. The Galactic Senate debates a plan to create an army for the Republic to assist the Jedi against the Separatist threat (Wikipedia, Attack of the Clones), why do the Jedi a “peace keeping” force who avoid war; rage and politics need an army? (Bromund, Interview) Why are they fighting a war? Because Yoda says so and at this point the Jedi Council all but leads the republic in every aspect (Crandall Interview). Various Hijinks ensure in this film resulting in an assassination attempt on Padme. While Obi-Wan is sent to investigate who hired the assassin, Anakin is sent to protect Padme’ who he is in love with. This is a mistake, Anakin’s feelings are obvious to everyone, Yoda should step up and stop this yet he does nothing. In investigating the source of the assassination attempt, Obi-Wan discover that the planet has been removed from the navigation maps of the Jedi archives. Yoda reveals that such a thing could only have been done by a Jedi, suggesting that a conspiracy is afoot. (Wikipedia, Attack of the Clones)-The only Jedi with that level of access is Yoda (Crandall, Interview).

Meanwhile, on Naboo, Anakin becomes troubled by premonitions of his mother Shmi in pain. Despite Obi-Wan's orders to remain on Naboo, Anakin and Padmé go to Tatooine. After meeting his new stepfather, Cliegg Lars, and stepbrother, Anakin learns Shmi had been kidnapped by Tusken Raiders some weeks earlier. Anakin heads out alone to rescue Shmi, but the Jedi snaps after witnessing the death of his mother at the hands of the Tuskens. He kills the entire tribe in a rage and buries his mother's body at the Lars homestead” (Attack of the Clones, Film). Disobeying orders, placing Padme at risk, slaughtering an entire tribe of Tusken Raiders-including the woman and children? Anakin has completely given in to the Dark Side by now, and Yoda is completely aware of what Anakin is doing via Force Visions yet he takes no actions against Anakin and tells no one what Anakin has done. As the crises escalates the Jedi Council become aware that a sith lord sits on the Senate, which they are in charge of (Crandall, interview). An emergency vote is up on the senate floor to grant Chancellor Palpatine emergency powers to organize the clone army and send them into battle (Wikipedia, Attack of the Clones). The Jedi Council could have put off the vote for like Ten Minutes while they searched the Senate for the Sith lord-after all they had been granted military control of the senate, Mace Windu begs Yoda to stop the Vote, yet Yoda lets the vote happen?(Wookapedia, Mace Windu).

Shortly after arriving on Geonosis in an attempt to rescue a capture Obi-Wan (Despite being told not to), Anakin and Padmé are captured and sentenced to be executed along with Obi-Wan. Anakin and Padmé profess their love (Dark Side point) before being led into a large gladiatorial arena where they and Obi-Wan are pitted against gigantic beasts in a public execution. However, Mace Windu and a team of Jedi appear and lead a strong defense against the beasts and the Separatists. Windu, but then the Jedi find themselves outnumbered by the Separatists' droid army. As Dooku demands their surrender, Yoda arrives with the clone army and rescues the survivors of the battle (Wikipedia, Attack of the Clones) Ah yes, Yoda the prime example of freedom, free will, peace, harmony and justice leading his SLAVE ARMY of Clones to the rescue, because nothing says freedom like an army of slaves cloned from an assassin? (Bromund, Interview) Clones that were ordered for the republic by Count Dooku while he was being trained by Yoda (Strom, Interview).

As a large battle erupts between the Republic's clone army and the Separatists' droid forces, Obi-Wan and Anakin engage Dooku in a light saber duel. Dooku defeats them both, injuring Obi-Wan and severing Anakin's right arm, but then Yoda arrives to challenge the Count. Unable to defeat Yoda, Dooku flees in his ship to Coruscant, taking the blueprints for an ultimate weapon with him” (Wikipedia, Attack of the Clones). What, Yoda could not stop him? The guy can lift A Star Destroyer with the Force yet he lets Dooku, his former Apprentice flee? (Bromund, Interview). It is not Yoda’s actions but his inaction during this film that all but cement the horrible truth, Yoda is a sith lord.

Lie#1: Yoda has no idea how a Planet could vanish from the Jedi Data banks-Only a high ranking member of the Council could do that (Crandall, Interview). Pretty much just Yoda. Lie #2: The Clone Army, cloned from the assassin Jango Fett. Who ordered the creation of the army? Count Dooku. When did he place the order, the time line is very unclear though it would seem before he created the Robot Army (Attack of the Clones, Film) and during or right after the time he was Yoda’s apprentice(Wikipedia, Count Dooku). How could Yoda never have heard of the Clone Planet if his Apprentice had been there? (Bromund, Interview)

Revenge of the Sith: Yoda, Anakin, Obi –Wan and the Rise of Darth Vader. The Three year time period between the end of the “Attack of the Clones” and the beginning of “Revenge of the sith” are chronicled in the Animated cartoon “the Clone Wars” (Wikipedia, The Clone Wars) but once again we are discussing the Macahvilian Machinations of Yoda in the order we saw the productions, not in the order they happen.

By this point it is painfully obvious that Anakin has gone to the dark Side. He is abusive and condescending to his wife, he is abusive and condescending to his friends and co workers (revenge of the Sith, Film), he continues to disregarded orders and protocol and blatantly slaughters enemies and innocents (The Clone Wars, Animation). He has Force Visions of his wife dying in child birth, an action he fears he may be the cause of (Revenge of the Sith, Film). Worse off he has caused many another Jedi to follow in his footsteps over the past Three years (Clone Wars, Animation). They are off having adventures and excitement and romances, all things a Jedi is supposed to avoid (Action, Adventure? A Jedi seeks not these things) (Empire Strikes Back, Film). Yoda is aware of Anakin’s actions, the remaining members of the Jedi counsel -especially Mace Windu-beg Yoda to deal with Anakin, rather Yoda places Anakin on the counsel but refuses to grant him the Title of master(Revenge of the Sith, Film) further pushing the brash, arrogant, petulant, spoiled brat over the edge and into the dark Side.

The Clone War continues but no one is sure why any more, each side has been manipulated , double and triple crossed so many times that no one is sure what’s going on and the Jedi are falling while the Sith are rising-Thus the “Balance of the Force” is getting closer (Crandall, Interview).

Yoda and the Jedi continue to use their Slave Force of Clone Troupers to fight their war(Revenge of the Sith, Film), at no point in the past Three years has Yoda or any Jedi questioned the moral implications of using a Slave race or how it goes against every belief of the Jedi(Clone Wars, Animation). Nor do they ever question that the clones-based on a Serial killer Assassin are potentially flawed (Attack of the Clones, Film) (Crandall, Interview). “Because nothing says freedom fighter like ordering around a bunch of slaves?” (Bromund, Interview).

Despite the misgivings towards Anakin and despite the fact that they all but know that Palpatine is a Sith, Yoda has Anakin spy on Palpatine-thus exposing the already fragile Anakin to the pure power of the dark Side that Palpatine/ Sidious represents( Revenge of the Sith, Film) (Strom, interview).

When Palpatine reveals himself as the sith lord Darth Sidious, Anakin reports his treachery to Jedi Master Mace Windu. Yoda sends Mace and Kit Fisto to arrest Palpatine with their Weapons holstered but Palpatine is expecting them and attacks. In the ensuing light saber duel, Windu subdues Palpatine by deflecting his opponent's Force Lightning back at him. Just then, Anakin rushes in and intervenes on Palpatine's behalf, severing Windu's hand; Palpatine then kills Windu (There was no body). Desperate to save Padmé, Anakin becomes Palpatine's apprentice, Darth Vader (Wikipedia, Revenge of the sith) (Star wars On Line Encyclopedia, Kit Fisto)

Yoda knew what was up, he knew it was a ambush and he knew Anakin had fallen yet he lets Mace and Kit walk into an ambush unprepared ?(Bromund, interview) For the crime of causing the death of Mace Yoda is guilty of being a Sith. Not that there was ever a body (Strom, Interview) (Star Wars on Line Encyclopedia, Kit Fisto).

Palpatine issues Order 66 across the galaxy to have the Clone Troopers turn on their Jedi Masters, and sends Vader with a legion of clone troopers to the Jedi Temple to kill everyone there”( Wikipedia, Revenge of the Sith).“And no one in the entire Jedi order has the ability to stop the signal, EMP pulse anyone? These guys can build Laser Swords and FTL Space Ships but they can’t stop a phone call? Palpatine was making individual calls to each Clone and Yoda could not stop it? (Bromund, interview).

Yoda confronts the Emperor, but is forced to escape when their duel reaches a stalemate.”(Wikipedia, Revenge of the Sith). Watch this scene again, Yoda is winning! He has the Emperor beat cold and then he just up and runs away? Why? Why not press the advantage? Maybe because Yoda wants him to win? Because Yoda is in fact the dark Master behind it all?

Yoda teaches Obi-Wan how to commune with the spirit of Qui-Gon Jinn before going into exile on Dagobah. Obi-Wan takes the infant Luke to Tatooine, where he intends to watch over him until the time is right to challenge the Empire.”(Wikipedia, Revenge of the Sith).

So Yoda goes of to vacation on a planet “Powerful in the Dark Side” for Twenty years (Empire Strike back, Film). Obi-Wan, one of the only Jedi left alive, the only person besides Yoda who knows who the Emperor is, is rewarded for his loyalty by being “banished” to Tatooine to watch over Luke-who grows up to become a whiny brat. Meanwhile Yoda does not think have anyone watch over Leia? Perhaps because with his ability to see the future he knew Leia’s fate? (Wikipedia, Leia).

From the very beginning when Obi-Wan lies to and manipulates Luke at Yoda’s orders to the very end where Yoda could have killed the Emperor but instead runs away it is evident time and time again that Yoda is manipulating the events of the Star Wars saga. If it was Anakin’s fate to bring balance to the force, then Anakin did that-At the end of Revenge of the Sith there are almost no Jedi or Sith left and young Luke and Leia are primed to begin the cycle all over again. A cycle that Yoda has been a part of for 900 years and will continue to be a part of now that he is a undead Force Ghost. Even the Force Ghost is a lie-“It is only Love, pure love that allows a Jedi to attain this state” (Wikipedia, Qui-Gon Jinn). Jedi do not feel love, only a sith who is open to emotion can feel passion and love while a Jedi is supposed to be cold and unfeeling right? We are told time and time again how a Jedi “Does not give in to his emotion, he controls them” (Collins, Page 88) so if Yoda is a Force Ghost, then he has given into the emotion of Love and only Sith feel emotion?

Through his actions and more importantly his inactions Yoda proves time and time again that he is the force behind all the events of the six films. A slave army? Allowing Anakin’s actions? Lying to Luke? Letting Mace Windu die? All the times he sat there doing nothing when he could have been teaching? Yoda my friend is a sith lord.

There are good and BAD teachers (!), there is black and white, there is order and chaos, there must always be balance to the force and Yoda went about achieving that Balance by any means he felt necessary with him always at the center(Crandall Interview), always in control and always a “creepy lil Muppet dude”. (Straus, Interview)
